Taking Health Back

Growing up, you could say that I was a skinny girl yet healthy. I wore mid-rifts as a teenager, was very active in sports and I was also on the high school dance team #GoBHS. I was very fit, toned and had zero health issues.

Everything was great health-wise until I had my first child at 18. When my son was born, I became very anemic. I remember laying in bed early one evening scared that I wasn't going to wake up and my son would be without his mother. I was dizzy and delirious and in fear that I wasn't going to get better.  Anemia combined with the lack of sleep from having a newborn led me to become very lethargic and sluggish for months. I also suffered from a mild bout of postpartum depression and the struggle was real for a few years.  In the process, I also gained over 40 lbs post-pregnancy and eventually went on to have two more children and continued to struggle with weight gain, stress, fatigue and bad diet.

I fell into the monotonous cycle of working at a full-time, sit-down job and had no time to exercise, was always in a rush and ended up eating on-the-go all the time. It’s a vicious cycle of destroying your body. I’m currently 37 years old and because of the chronic, prolonged stress; bad diet and being overweight, I struggle with a long list of health issues. Some which are very scary and my doctor has prescribed medications to deal with these issues.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Excessive Weight
Pre-diabetes Chronic Shoulder Pain
Dark Spots on Skin High Cholesterol
Severe Vitamin D Deficiency Anxiety
Low Energy Chronic Stress

It Is Time For A Change in My Health

As you can see, I’m a mess! It's time to do something about this!

A little over a year ago, I met my good friend Christian. The first day we met, we talked for hours about nutrition and health. I learned that he was studying nutrition and knew a lot about how to eat a clean diet. This is something I have always been interested in learning more about, so we hit it off right away. He had this book that described different ailments such as adrenal fatigue and hormone issues. I had been struggling and reading about these issues for quite some time. That day, we spoke at length about eating real food and he taught me about food synergy.

I'm Already Seeing Results!

After just a few days of implementing my new health strategy, I started to notice several positive changes. The first thing I noticed was a huge change in my energy levels! I used to not be able to function without my coffee in the mornings which would always give me a nasty crash in the middle of the afternoon. I noticed I was able to get up early and go go go until bedtime without really feeling sluggish all day. To me, that was incredible! I was also sleeping through the night which I haven't done in a very long time.

I have always had mild acne and redness.  Within a week, I noticed that my blemishes were gone and my skin was glowing. My friends made lots of comments about how I am looking and acting differently. It felt amazing!  After just a month, the dark spots on my skin started to fade and my cravings shifted from sweet and salty to wanting nothing but fruits and vegetables. I didn’t even have a craving for heavy foods like meat or fried foods! I stopped losing hair and it had a new shine to it, I was also noticing that my stomach had started flattening out and my shape was coming back. I even lost 8 pounds in the first 2 months as a bonus!  My days are more physically active and more mentally productive.  I haven’t felt this healthy in years! I’m Taking Healthy Back!
